Calico Rose Studio aims to despatch all orders within 5 business days, a little longer for a large order or over a holiday period. Very often orders process faster than 5 days but I can’t guarantee a faster processing time.
Made to order vs Pre-made
Almost everything is made to order especially for you. Occasionally you will see a ready to ship badge against an item. This means that there is one or more of these items available for immediate shipment. All my items are handmade but the pre-made items are ready to ship while the made-to-order products take 5 business days to be created for you.
If a product is ready for immediate shipment the following badge will be displayed in the product listing:
The jewellery that you receive might vary slightly from the product picture because all handmade artefacts show the hand of the maker – that is their charm and what makes them special. Slight irregularities should not be seen as flaws.
In addition, the gemstones, minerals and pearls selected for these items bear Mother Nature’s fingerprints and are as individual as you are.
Jewellery Care Information
Due to the delicate nature of handmade jewellery it is strongly recommended that:
- your jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
- you avoid contact with chemicals/oils such as when applying perfume or lotion to the skin.
- you allow perfume to dry before putting on your jewellery
- you avoid exposure of your jewellery to water when swimming, showering and washing your hands.
- you remove your jewellery when engaging in physical activities such as when working out
- you store your jewellery in its linen pouch to help prevent tangling or breaking.
- you keep your jewellery out of the reach of small children
- Natural pearls should be stored out of daylight.
- your jewellery could be damaged if too much force is applied, the metal is repeatedly twisted/bent or it is placed in a sonic cleaning machine.
Please use our sizing information (below) to prevent errors in ordering.
Take the wrist measurement above the wrist bones with a flexible tape measure or a string (not pulling tight). Let me have this measurement and I will add a small amount for comfort and ease of fastening the clasp.
If the bracelet is to be a surprise gift, or there is another reason why you can’t obtain the wrist measurement, please select from one of these standard sizes (this is for the bracelet, which is about 1/2 inch bigger than the wrist):
Small = 6 1/2 inch; medium = 7 inch, regular = 7 1/2 inch; large = 8 inch. If you are really unsure, I can put an S clasp and extender chain on instead of the toggle clasp, which will enable the bracelet to be adjustable between 6 1/2 and 8 inches.

If you intend to wear a ring as a stacking ring, please select a ring 1/4 size up from the one you would normally wear on that finger.
I am very happy to work with you on Custom Orders. Most often a client will ask me to modify a design from the standard range, so I suggest you browse the product listings for inspiration. Please feel free to contact me for a quote, without obligation.
Custom Orders can often be processed in 5 working days from receipt of payment, though they can have a lengthier processing time, especially if materials have to be sourced especially for you. Once your exact requirements are known, I will be able to give you a despatch date for your Custom Order.
Calico Rose Studio ships through Royal Mail.
Calico Rose Studio has lots of international customers. I ship all International orders through Royal Mail.
Calico Rose Studio is not responsible for duty or brokerage fees for international shipping. These charges come from your country during importation of your package.
Calico Rose Studio tries hard to apply fair shipping costs to each order.
- Shipping costs are calculated automatically during checkout.
- Calico Rose Studio offers free shipping in the UK on all orders over £30
- Calico Rose Studio offers free shipping to destinations outside the UK on all orders over £75
Selecting expedited shipping during checkout does not ensure a faster processing time. Your product may still need 5 working days to be handmade.
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately Calico Rose Studio can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
Personalized and/or customised goods are exempt from being returned unless the product is defective on arrival.
Earrings cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.

Please do not send your purchase back without having contacted us first.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted: (if applicable) eg any item not in its original condition, with damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to Calico Rose Studio’s error.
For Customers in the EU, EU Distance Selling Regulations apply.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a small number of days.
Late or missing refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company – it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Calico Rose Studio can only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send me an email at Hazel@CalicoRoseStudio.com
If you need to return your item, I will supply the return address.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you will vary.
If you are shipping an item with a value over £20, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. I don’t guarantee that I will receive your returned item unless it has been sent by a trackable service.
